Fordham Prep Classic Run
Freshman Field Day, 1999

Thanks to alumnus Phil Toomey, class of 1958, a grand old tradition has returned to the Prep.  The Fordham Prep Classic Run is the same race that was run for many years through the 1950's.  The race was held at the start of the Fordham Prep school year, and challenged the new class of Freshmen to circle the Fordham University Quadrangle (Edward's Parade) three times.  In this year's revival of the event, 61 Freshman, nearly a quarter of the class, took up this 3/4 mile challenge on a hot, muggy day.  Congratulations to the 15 plaque winners and all the participants, and thanks to Mr. Toomey, the track team volunteers and to Mr. Brian Carney for pulling off a great event and restarting a new tradition!
